The Secondary Air Injection System (PAIR) directs fresh air from the airbox to the exhaust system to help burn unburned fuel in the exhaust. This system is designed to improve emissions from stock exhaust systems, but will backfire and cause kickback if you fit aftermarket exhaust systems.
