The STEALTH-5 has achieved a previously unmatched level of tuning and performance in GPS reception.

This allows for extremely short GPS signal acquisition times and a very high signal-to-noise ratio, resulting in increased accuracy and precision in calculating position and, consequently, lap times.

Contrary to the widespread misconception that GPS frequency ensures greater accuracy, position fidelity is actually the key factor in allowing an efficient algorithm to accurately calculate lap times.

If a system does not have excellent position tracking, increasing the GPS frequency, even to 50Hz, will result in only 50 samples per second acquired with positional error, resulting in incorrect lap times but no improvement in timing.

The algorithm developed by Starlane since 2005, when it was the first in the world to launch lap timers with integrated GPS, was already capable of achieving accuracy in the order of one hundredth of a second, even at low frequencies, which at the time were 1Hz or 5Hz.

1) TRIPLE CONSTELLATION NAVSTAR+GLONASS+GALILEO RECEIVER AND INTEGRATED ANTENNA:

The STEALTH-5’s shockproof ABS body houses the new dual-constellation receiver, which uses satellites from the American NAVSTAR system, the Russian GLONASS system, and the European GALILEO system. This solution significantly increases accuracy thanks to the very large number of satellites used to determine instantaneous position, speed, and lap time.

 

2) FINISH LINE AND 3 SPLIT TIMES MANAGEMENT:

You can set the coordinates of up to 4 finish lines (main finish line + 3 optional split times). As you pass each finish line and split time, the STEALTH-5 displays the corresponding lap time and stores it. This allows you to quickly evaluate your performance even on sections of the track far from the main straight, which would be costly and cumbersome to achieve with any other type of stopwatch.

 

3) INDICATION OF THE IDEAL ACHIEVABLE TIME:

Thanks to split time management, the STEALTH-5 calculates the ideal achievable time for each session. This function is obtained by adding the best sector times. This allows you to understand what the achievable lap time would have been if there had been no traffic at a particular point on the track or if you had driven a lap at your absolute best.

4) DUAL-FUNCTION “BEST LAP” LED:

The “BEST LAP” LED lights up when you improve on the previous lap and flashes if the lap completed is the best of the session. This solution provides the rider with the information they need for performance without distractions.

If intermediate finish lines have been set, the LED also lights up when you pass each intermediate point. This makes it a very convenient tool for understanding, without distractions, whether you are improving compared to the same split time of the previous lap or whether you have just achieved the best split time of the session.

 

5) GPS SPEED DETECTION:

The advantage of using the NAVSTAR+GLONASS+GALILEO system is the ability to detect vehicle speed with extreme precision and without the need to install sensors on the vehicle. It requires no user settings and, most importantly, the measurement is always accurate and unaffected by the vehicle’s inclination or any wheel spin.

 

6) DUAL HOUR METER FOR PERFECT PERIODIC VEHICLE MAINTENANCE:

The STEALTH GPS-5 also has two separately resettable hour meters to ensure regular vehicle maintenance. The hour meters are activated by receiving the speed signal from the GPS+GLONASS system. This solution allows the hour meters to function even without any connection to the vehicle’s wiring.

7) CAN BE USED WITH MAAT SOFTWARE:

To manage the trajectory analysis functions, you can always download the MAAT software from the Starlane website. This software allows you to store, analyze, and print acquired data and provides a graphical representation of the trajectories traveled, including the corresponding acceleration and deceleration points, allowing lap-by-lap comparisons. The MAAT MOBILE app is also available for Android and iOS.

8) 999-LAP MEMORY WITH AUTOMATIC MANAGEMENT OF 99 TEST SESSIONS:

STEALTH GPS-5 automatically creates a new session every time you enter the track, allowing you to easily analyze the times stored in the various sessions.

The date and time of each session are stored, and the total time, split times, and maximum speed for each lap are also recorded.

 

9) CYCLICAL MEMORY MANAGEMENT:

With the STEALTH-5, you’ll never find yourself running out of memory. To ensure easy, continuous use, it manages available space by automatically deleting the oldest sessions when memory is almost full.

10) STORAGE OF FINISH LINE COORDINATES FOR THE MOST USED TRACKS:

You can store the coordinates acquired for the finish lines of the tracks you train on most frequently. Up to 16 circuits can be stored, allowing you to easily recall the finish line of the current track without having to reset it each time.

11) THE STEALTH-5 IS EQUIPPED WITH A BACKLIT GRAPHIC DISPLAY:

This solution has enabled the development of software with unparalleled simplicity and immediacy in analyzing stored data and setting the user’s desired functions. The display is transflective, a feature that allows for maximum visibility even in direct sunlight when the backlight is off

12) EXTERNAL POWER:

Powered by a 12V vehicle battery or an optional external battery. The STEALTH-5 features user-selectable power-saving and auto-off functions to maximize battery performance. It comes with a dedicated extension cord with eyelets for connection to the battery and a connector on the side of the instrument for quick disconnection.

13) WATER RESISTANT:

The STEALTH-5 is water resistant, making it suitable for use even in the rain.
